Prepare to die...laughing that is!  - posted by Cin 08-07-2007 16:10
I had to read this book in high school, many years after I saw the movie hundreds of times. It still remains one of my favorite books of all time. Joye, I both agree and disagree with you. Yes the movie does follow closely to the story part of the book. But it leaves out the very hilarious NON-STORYLINE part of the book. This is the part that the author interjects bits and pieces of his own life and tells his own story in between the actual story telling. A very unique tale in this way, and the reason it is so high on my list, these parts were gut-busting!!!!

Inconceivable!  - posted by Joye 08-07-2007 11:23
Gladly, this book was very much like the movie. A lot of the wonderful speeches in the movie are word for word out of the book. The book does give more insight into a few things, like where Inigo and Fezzik came from. It really is a "Tale of True Love and High Adventure" like the subtitle states. Well worth reading.
