A true computer sleuth  - posted by Rusty 07-30-2007 18:46
I'll admit it - I'm biased towards these types of books, but that doesn't make the book any less enjoyable! This one is the amazing true story of an astronomer turned computer administrator who discovers a hacker in his system. He spends the next year meticulously tracking and recording the hacker's every move. Eventually, with the help of several government agencies, he catches the guy.
One really nice thing about this book is the fact that the author writes for the regular person - he doesn't use tons of jargon or go into detailed minutia.
The events described here happened in 1986-87, so it is a little bit dated, but still a great read.
