While the story was interesting, there was never anything to it. Everytime it came close to a climax the author avoided it and everything just went on. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had known it was loosely based on a real person before I started reading.

This is a children's book, but very enjoyable to read at any age. About the girl that is left behind when all her people leave the island, and how she survives day to day and overcomes the obstacles of being alone.

Similar to Robinson Crusoe  - posted by Rusty 12-19-2006 13:41
Maybe I just like the idea of being stranded on an island but I really liked this book too! Fun to think about what you would do in that situation.

I don't remember a lot about this book, but I did like it. It made you think how you'd react being all alone. What would happen to your speech if you didn't need to speak? Worth reading.
