What?  - posted by Mari 06-26-2007 22:39
Yes, I read to read this one for school also. Maybe I should have paid more attention to it since it ended up on the AP test. I got the cliff notes and it still seemed pointless. I don't have patience for slow books, or movies for that matter.

An interesting concept.  - posted by Kale 04-09-2007 16:46
This is not a long book, but moves very, very slowly. Watching a person slowly become insane because of an unseen motivator is an interesting concept, but other than that, there didn't really seem to be a point to it. Some movies, such as "Apocalypse Now" which are based on the story are much more interesting than the book itself.

I think I missed something  - posted by Rusty 12-19-2006 16:56
I read this book a couple of years ago. I think there was some part of history or psychology that I didn't pick up on. It was kind of slow moving. But I liked how the captain slowly went crazier and crazier!

I had to read this one in school and I didn't like it much at all. It was dark and hard to grasp everything that was going on.
