The End  - posted by Cin 08-15-2007 12:50
This one got off to a slow start, then hit a definite point that felt like a fast forward button was hit and the ending was here too quickly. I thought that parts were rushed, I wished she had taken the time to write out those parts in more detail, even if it meant more pages. I think she just had so much to tell in this last book, that she didn't go into as great as detail for fear of having a much larger book.
Anyway, very enjoyable, glad to know how the war between good and evil ended. Glad she tied up all the loose ends and answered all the questions that came up from all the previous books!

Conflict and resolution  - posted by Joye 07-25-2007 12:00
Another great one from Rowling. This book was very exciting with lots of action and narrow excapes. Deathly Hallows had a lot more conflict than many of the other HP books. I liked the idea that the answers may not come as quickly or as simply as you'd like them too. There were stretches of the book where no one knew exactly what to do, but the story didn't drag. The characters became more complex as they struggled for answers to complex questions and feelings. I was also glad that there was a definite resolution and I liked how she resolved it. There were deaths in this book too, but not so overwhelming as to take away from the story. After all, this is war! I also liked how she used people and things from the previous stories to tie everything together. And how she cast doubt on things we'd believed from the beginning. It is a very good series of books and ones that anyone of any age can read and enjoy.
