Movie?  - posted by POD 07-18-2007 13:45
Interesting, the movie of the same name was only based on a small section of the entire book. I liked the writing, but I like historical non-fiction, so... overall, a good read...

A very detailed history of the battle for Stalingrad and its aftermath. One of the most exciting parts details the sniper battle between the best the Germans and Russians had to offer. One of them wins, but you'll have to read the book to see which. This book also points out clearly that Hitler was no general which is a good thing. If you like WWII history, this is one of the best I've read.
