I liked this book, especially the ending, BUT, the rest of the book was pretty boring. Most of the book dealt with Eragon traveling to the elves and then training with them. A lot of that part of the story involved philosophy, the how and why things were done. Most of the time I kept thinking, "okay, get to the battle!". BUT (again), there was a secondary story in this one involving Eragon's cousin that was fabulous. I tried to quickly read through the Eragon parts so that I could get to the exciting parts with his cousin. Overall, a good read.

(this is the only thing I don't like about Eldest and Eragon) You can say to your self whats going to happen though the whole book, most of the time your right. The book is excellent, with plenty of action and magic.
